My Neptune in Pisces Story – A Personal Story
Now I want to share something personal, because my own experience during Neptune in Pisces illustrates how these transits work. And understanding what I went through might help you understand what’s coming if you have cardinal placements that are about to be activated.
Neptune in Pisces transited my 7th house and it squared my Sagittarius placements (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, North Node) in my 4th house. The 7th house is the house of partnership, one-on-one relationships, marriage and committed bonds, but also of open enemies and how we relate to the other. When Neptune transited this house for me, all 7th house themes became Neptunian.
I isolated myself. I withdrew from relationships and turned deeply inward. Every night I was alone, drinking a bottle of wine, smoking weed, working on trying to turn a hobby into a career. I wasn’t partnering in conventional ways. I wasn’t connecting with others. I was dissolving into myself.
At the same time, Neptune was squaring my 4th house Sagittarius placements. The 4th house is the foundation of the chart. It’s the home, family, roots, emotional security, and the private self. A square creates tension and challenge. Neptune squaring these placements meant that my foundations were being challenged, made foggy, and dissolved. And this manifested so literally in my life.
I had water leaks in my home. Mold growing in the walls. These are Neptune’s physical signatures…water damage, things growing in the dark, and hidden contamination. My actual home was reflecting the archetypal energy. The boundaries of my physical space were being breached by water. Something was growing unseen that I would eventually have to address.
I was confused about my family. The dynamics were unclear. There was a fog around what my family actually was and what they meant to me. This was the shadow side of this transit. The escape into substances. The isolation. The depression. Losing sight of myself completely.
This is what happens when we don’t know how to work with Neptune consciously. Neptune offers transcendence, but the easiest door to transcendence is through substances. Neptune offers dissolving the ego, but before we learn healthy dissolution, we often experience it as depression and loss of self. Neptune offers spiritual awakening, but on the way there, everything can feel meaningless first.
I was channeling Neptune into creative work, trying to build something from my hobby. But there was also an element of escapism in it. Using the work to avoid dealing with the confusion and pain in other areas of my life.
The Transformation
But I didn’t stay in the shadow. And this is how Neptune transits are supposed to work, when we engage with them consciously. I didn’t quit drinking completely, but I created healthy boundaries. I quit smoking. This all took courage, because everything in me wanted to keep numbing, keep escaping, keep avoiding the fog.
I had a spiritual awakening. I dove deep into astrology and tarot. This is Neptune’s higher expression, genuine spiritual exploration and genuine connection to the numinous. I didn’t just escape into substances, I eventually found doorways into authentic mystical experience.
I found my own spirituality…not my family’s version, but MY OWN. With Neptune squaring my 4th house, I had to dissolve my inherited beliefs, my family’s spiritual framework, in order to discover what was actually true for me. I had to separate from the religion or worldview I was raised in so I could develop my own connection to the divine.
I found healing within my family. Neptune in challenging aspect to the 4th can bring family wounds to the surface, but it can also bring healing. The forgiveness and compassion that Neptune offers. The dissolution of old grudges. The understanding that my family members are human, wounded, and doing their best.
I stopped blaming my family for everything and took control of my own life and healing. This was the integration. Neptune dissolves blame because it dissolves the rigid boundaries between self and other. I couldn’t keep pointing the finger at my family when I realized that we’re all connected, that we’ve all been wounded, that blame isn’t the same as healing.
I found a new sense of self within home, family, and relationships. The identity that was dissolved (the one built on family patterns I hadn’t chosen, on relationships that weren’t healthy, on escapes that weren’t serving me) was replaced by something more authentic. Something I chose. Something aligned with my actual soul.
I worked on strengthening my boundaries within my family and relationships. This is the crucial Neptune lesson. Neptune dissolves boundaries, and in the dissolution, we often feel invaded, overwhelmed, and lost. But the gift of a Neptune transit, when we do the work, is learning what boundaries we actually need. I learned I can feel compassion for my family and still maintain boundaries. I can love someone and still say no.
From My 7th House to the New Chapter
Neptune is now leaving my 7th house and the movement from Pisces to Aries is shifting the energy from my relationship axis to a new domain. With Sagittarius placements, Aries forms a trine to my chart which is a harmonious fire-to-fire connection. The intense square pressure that my 4th house was under for years is finally releasing. I did the work. I walked through the fog. I found myself on the other side.
What happens now is integration. I get to live from the new foundation I’ve built. The relationship to home, family, and my own roots that I’ve developed through so much struggle, I actually get to inhabit it.
Saturn entering Aries will form a trine to my Sagittarius placements. Saturn trine my 4th house can bring structure and stability to my home life. It can help me build lasting foundations. It can bring maturity and grounding to my sense of belonging.
After years of dissolution and confusion, I’m entering a period where I can actually build something solid.
