How to stay motivated and productive when you are stuck at home
1. Get organized
If you are stuck at home you should take advantage of the opportunity to get yourself organized. There are so many awesome ways to get organized.
Clean out your closets
My closets get cluttered so easily especially when I am in a hurry. Before I know it my closets are cluttered and need of some TLC. Take the time to declutter items that you don’t need and donate them. You can also organize your closet with bins. I also put together a list of 13 ways to spring clean your life you can read here.
Declutter your rooms
Just like organizing your closets, a great way to get organized is by decluttering your rooms. If you have items taking up unnecessary space, it’s time to declutter it.
Organize your emails
I don’t know about you but having a full e-mail box really bothers me. Try to take the time to finally go through your emails, you never know what you might find.
2. Set goals
Another great way to kick a** when you are stuck at home is by setting goals for yourself. I love goal setting, it always motivates me. There are so many areas of your life to set goals for.
Use this free time to set goals for yourself.
3. Get ready every day
If you want to feel motivated then take the time to wake up and get ready every day. For some reason, if I take the time to get dressed, do my makeup and hair, I feel more motivated to stay productive throughout the day.
4. Make a vision board
Similar to goal setting, a great way to take advantage of your time stuck at home is by creating a vision board. This is a bulletin board that you create using motivational quotes, images that inspire you, and more. It’s a board filled with things that you want for your future and things that motivate you to go after your goals.
5. Learn something new
Another great way to kick a** when you are stuck at home is by learning something new. Is there a hobby you have been wanting to learn but never had the time? Now is the perfect time to learn it! Did you know I actually make a full time income through blogging? I break my income down here. If you have been wanting to start your own blog, now is a great time to do so! I have a step by step guide on starting your own blog here.
6. Create a routine
I work from home so I am used to this mandatory “stay at home” thing. One thing I learned is that without proper routines in place, it’s very easy to become unproductive and unmotivated. Try to create a morning and night routine to help you stay motivated and productive!
7. Do something you have been putting off
Is there a task you have been putting off? Maybe laundry that needs to be done, paperwork that needs to be filled out, a recipe that needs to be made? Now is the time to do it! No more excuses!
8. Clean your space
Not only is it important to have an organized space but it’s equally as important to have a clean space! Use this time stuck at home to clean your space. Go ahead and mop, sweep, dust and clean any spaces you haven’t cleaned in a while.
9. Journal and write it out
Another way to kick a** when you are stuck at home is by journaling. You can learn a lot about yourself and what you want out of life through journaling. It can also help with anxiety and finding inner motivation. I have awesome collections of journaling prompts that can help too.

- Journaling prompts for self-discovery

10 Create a budget
There is no better time than now to create a budget. Especially during times of uncertainty a budget plan can come in handy. I talk about my favorite money saving and budgeting tips in this post.
11. Set boundaries
If you want to stay motivated while stuck at home, it’s important to set boundaries. This is especially important if you work from home. I find that it’s so easy to get caught up in my work that I forget to take breaks or I spend all night working. Setting boundaries helps so you aren’t focusing on one thing for too long.
Before you know it you could have binge watched an entire series on Netflix when you could have been working on something productive. I like to set timers to help with this issue. Once the timer is up I move onto my next task. I also set timers to remind myself to stop working or to stop binge watching a tv show. It sounds ridiculous but sometimes it’s necessary.
I hope you found these tips helpful! Hopefully you are now on your way to kick a**!
