A few months back I was feeling at my lowest. My thoughts were constantly negative and I never felt happy. I felt defeated. I decided that it was time for me to make a change. I knew I didn’t want to keep living my life that way. I wanted more. I tried to cut out every negative thought and every negative person. One habit that change my life was daily affirmations to start my day. I put together a list of some of my favorite affirmations that helped me become a more positive thinker and helped me go after what I truly desired.
15 Positive Affirmations
Affirmation #1: “Struggle Does Not Last Forever”
How many times have you thought to yourself, “Why me?, Why am I struggling? What did I do to deserve this?” We have all found ourselves once before pondering what went wrong and why we are in the situation that we are in. The truth is, no struggle is permanent. If you find your strength, pick yourself up, and dust yourself off then you will find yourself overcoming the hardships and pain. Too often we say “Why me?” instead of saying, “You know what, this situation is not forever, I can get through this.” I know life gets hard and it will knock you down many times but it is so important that you fight.
Affirmation #2: “I Survived”
If you are still alive after all of the hardships and struggles from your past, you can say, “I survived.” You defeated every obstacle life has thrown you thus far. Everyone has a past and everyone has pain that they have gone through. Look at you now though, you survived that pain and that pain has only made you a whole lot stronger. You should be proud of yourself. Don’t let the negativity of your past affect your present and future. Don’t allow it to turn you bitter. You are a survivor of pain and struggle. Take that with positive strides and live your “now” without negativity.
Affirmation #3: “There is No Such Thing as a Wrong Decision”
Each decision you make that turns out unexpectedly, that is a lesson learned. With every decision made we are bettering who we are as a person. The important thing to remember is that we should try not to have to learn the same lesson twice. Be thankful for every decision made, for they have grown us into the person we are today.
Affirmation #4: “I Can Only Control Myself”
When it comes to others, maybe you may not like who they are. You may not like what they do or the decisions they make. You don’t necessarily agree with their choices. However, it is important to remember that you can not control them either. You can’t change someone else. You can try and help them make wise choices but, they are learning lessons daily just like you. When it comes to control, ultimately, you can only control yourself. Make sure you are making the best decisions for yourself, be kind, be humble and the rest will follow.
Affirmation #5: “I am Doing my Best”
It might seem as if you don’t have all the pieces put together. You may still hit the snooze button once or twice. You may not drive the newest car and your shoes may be scuffed. There is nothing wrong with that. No matter where you are in life, you are trying your best. Too often we put ourselves down after our 8-12 hour work day shifts. We tend to get upset over feeling as if we are not where we want to be in life. We wish everyday would feel a little bit better. Well it can! If you start talking to yourself in a positive manner rather than a negative one, you will see that it its possible to get where you want to be. It is also important to know that you are doing your best with your current circumstances. Stop being so hard on yourself.
Affirmation #6: “I Give Myself Permission to Slow Down”
It’s time you stop and take a breather. We like to act as if we can do it all. “Oh so I need to clean the house, work 8 hours, make dinner, make sure I eat, go grocery shopping all in one day, work on my lesson plans. No problem.” Said literally, no one ever. It’s crazy how fast we go through life, and how much we sometimes take on. It’s okay to pump the brakes and tell ourselves that it’s time we take it easy for once. I tend to feel guilty when I choose to take a break until I realize just how necessary it is. Don’t over work yourself. It is important for our mental health to relax.

Affirmation #7: “I Only Fail if I Quit”
Failure is only achieved when you give up. I know there will be times when you feel as if everything is going wrong and nothing can be fix. You may feel as if you have “failed” but the truth is, no, you haven’t. The only way to fail is if you decide to quit. If you keep pushing and continue to try again, you will succeed. Don’t give up.
Affirmation #8: “It’s Not Selfish to Put Myself First”
Sometimes you need to put yourself first. If we continually try to please others and put others feelings before our own, we will live a bitter, unhappy life. It’s not always healthy to disregard your feelings just to please others. If it makes you unhappy then you shouldn’t do it. Make sure you are paying attention to your own happiness as well as others. You deserve to be happy too.

Affirmation #9: “I Have the Freedom and Power to Create the Life I Desire”
Your mind is powerful. Anything you put your mind to, you will achieve. The most important part is believing in yourself. Once you believe in yourself, you’re half way there. If you go after your goals and dreams without the thought of giving up in your mind, then you will achieve what you desire most. Chase your desired life and don’t stop until you get it.
Affirmation #10: “I am Worthy”
Feelings of low self-worth can come across many from time to time. It is vital that you know your worth. You should know that you deserve love, happiness, and health. Don’t allow anyone to tell you otherwise. If they can’t see just how worthy you are, leave them in the past. Only surround yourself with people who know your worth and bring you positivity.
Affirmation #11: “It’s Time to be Patient”
Practice patience everyday. There will be times where you feel as if it is taking forever to achieve true happiness. Or maybe you want success to happen right now. Take a deep breath because nothing happens overnight. Patience is key. Success will come and you will be happy as long as you are patient and continuing to push through those seemingly never ending days.

Affirmation #12: “I am Fearless”
Life is about conquering our fears. It’s okay to go outside your comfort zone, in fact, it’s vital. Sometimes, in order to achieve our ultimate goals we have to push our fears aside. Live life fearlessly and you will accomplish great things.
Affirmation #13: “I Will be Kind.”
Kindness goes a long way. Spreading kindness leads to good karma. The world can be dark and bitter at times. The more kindness you spread, the more kindness you will attract. Each day will feel significantly better than the last. Life is too short to be anything but kind.
Affirmation #14: “I am Loved”
Too often we find ourselves feeling unloved. Although we feel this way, it’s not true. There are plenty of people who love us. Always remember, even on your darkest days that there is someone who loves you and there is someone who wants nothing but happiness for you.
Affirmation #15: “I Love my Mind, Body, and Soul”
Society tries to tell us what the “ideal” image is. The most important thing to do is, ignore society. Don’t allow anyone else to tell you that you that you are anything but beautiful. Make sure you are reminding yourself everyday, just how beautiful you are. Your mind is beautiful, your body is beautiful, and your soul is beautiful.
Practice these affirmations daily and you will see a shift of positivity in your everyday life.
Until next time,
xx
