Overall Energy of October 2026

Venus in Cancer in the 1st house showed up on the astro dice and it is setting the tone for this entire month! This is deeply personal energy. It’s about YOU! How you feel about yourself, how you nurture yourself, how you present yourself to the world, and what makes you feel safe and loved. Venus here wants you to fall back in love with who you are! You might feel more sensitive than usual, more aware of how others perceive you, and craving comfort in all forms. Some of you might change up your appearance this month or finally invest in a self-care routine that you’ve been putting off. Others might be working through feelings about your body, your identity, or your sense of worthiness. Cancer energy is soft, protective, and emotional, so expect to be in your feelings a lot this October!

The Tarot

The Devil upright first is staring right at you and asking you this… what are you chained to? This card doesn’t necessarily mean something dark or scary. It’s about attachment! It’s about the things we give our power away to. For some of you, this could be a toxic relationship you keep going back to even though you know better. For others, it might be negative self-talk, comparison, an addiction, overspending, doom scrolling, or staying in situations that feel comfortable but are actually keeping you small. The Devil shows up when we’ve convinced ourselves that we’re stuck when really we’ve just been too afraid to leave!

Then the 8 of Swords reversed came out next which is telling me that October is the month you finally see through the illusion. Whatever you thought was holding you hostage… you’re starting to see that you have more freedom than you believed! The mental prison is dissolving. The excuses are falling flat. You can’t unsee what you’re about to see, and that’s a beautiful thing even if it’s uncomfortable!

The 10 of Pentacles reversed here adds another layer to this. This card upright represents family legacy, generational wealth, long-term stability, and traditions. Reversed, it indicates that something in this area is being disrupted or questioned. Maybe you’re realizing that the life path your family expected you to follow isn’t actually what you want, maybe there’s financial stress or instability in your household, or maybe you’re breaking a generational pattern or cycle and it’s causing some friction with relatives who don’t understand why you can’t just do things the way they’ve always been done! Some of you might be dealing with inheritance issues, family drama, or disagreements about money with relatives. Others might be questioning whether the “traditional” markers of success like the house, the marriage, the 401k, and the whole picture-perfect family image are actually what will make you happy. October is asking you to build your own definition of security and legacy instead of inheriting someone else’s!

The Oracle Cards

Creator card: This card came through with this specific message: your creativity is your superpower on your path to prosperity! This isn’t just about art, music, or writing, although it could be for some of you! Creativity is also problem-solving. It’s thinking differently, or approaching your life like a blank canvas instead of a predetermined path. Whatever challenges you’re facing this month, the answer isn’t going to come from doing things the same way you’ve always done them. Get creative! Think bigger! Try something new!

Temporary problems: This card here is spirit’s way of putting a reassuring hand on your shoulder. I know things might feel heavy right now and some of you are going through it. BUT this card confirms that what you’re dealing with has an expiration date. It won’t feel like this forever. Keep going!

“Be careful do not take risks”: This card might seem confusing alongside all this “break free” energy, but hear me out! There’s a difference between breaking unhealthy patterns and being reckless. Spirit is saying YES, make changes. YES, walk away from what’s not serving you. BUT don’t burn everything down in the process. Don’t make permanent decisions based on temporary emotions. Be strategic! Think things through. You can be bold and wise at the same time. We have Venus and Mercury retrograde during October. Don’t make big decisions during this energy. If you can… hold off!

Psychic ability “trust your intuition”: This card is confirming that you already know what’s true and what’s right for you! You don’t need anyone else to validate your feelings or give you permission to make moves. Your gut has been trying to tell you something for a while now. October is the month to actually listen! Pay attention to your dreams this month too. Notice the patterns and trust the random thoughts that pop into your head. Your intuition is loud right now, so stop ignoring it!

Family wishes coming true: This card brings some relief to the 10 of Pentacles reversed energy. Despite any current tension or instability with family, there’s something you’ve been hoping for in this area that will come to pass! Maybe it’s reconciliation with a relative, maybe it’s finally feeling accepted for who you are, or maybe it’s a family member getting good news about health or finances. Something positive is coming through on the family front.

Find peace within: This is such an important message for you this month! You can’t rely on circumstances, other people, or outcomes to give you peace. You have to cultivate it within yourself regardless of what’s going on around you! Meditation, journaling, breathwork, prayer, time in nature, and whatever helps you connect to your center, make it a priority in October!!

Compassion card: This is asking you to be gentle with yourself through October. Change is hard. Breaking patterns is hard. Seeing the truth about situations you’ve been avoiding is hard! Don’t beat yourself up for not figuring things out sooner. Don’t shame yourself for the time you spent stuck. You’re doing the work now and that’s what matters! Also show compassion to others too.

Fertility card: This is exciting! For a small number of you, this could be literal. Pregnancy, birth, or news about a baby might be part of your October. BUT for most of you, this is about something you’ve been developing finally being ready to come into the world! A project, a business, an idea, a relationship, or a new version of yourself! You’ve been nurturing this thing and it’s almost time for it to be born. The seeds you planted are ready to sprout.

Full moon in Pisces: This card asks you to balance practicality and spirituality this month. Don’t get so caught up in the material world that you neglect your soul. But also don’t float away into spiritual bypassing where you use “positive vibes only” as an excuse to avoid dealing with real-world responsibilities. You need both! Ground yourself in reality while staying connected to something higher.

Surrender your desire to control people: You cannot make anyone see things your way. You can’t force someone to change. You can’t control how others behave, what they choose, or whether they understand you. The only person you have any control over is yourself. October is asking you to release your grip on other people’s choices and actions. Focus your energy on your own journey! Let others walk their path even if you disagree with the direction they’re going. This surrender will bring you so much peace.

Career and Finances

The Ace of Cups upright here first is bringing a beautiful new beginning to your work life! This card is all about emotional fulfillment, and seeing it in your career sector tells me that October brings an opportunity, project, or shift that actually makes your heart happy! Some of you might be starting something new that you’re genuinely excited about. Others might experience a moment of clarity about what you actually want to do with your professional life. This could also indicate improved relationships with coworkers or finally feeling emotionally connected to your work instead of just going through the motions. Pay attention to opportunities that make you feel something! That’s the direction to go!

The Nine of Pentacles upright also here is one of the most beautiful cards in the deck for finances and career! This is the card of the “self-made” person. It represents independence, financial stability, enjoying the fruits of your labor, and being comfortable in your own success. October brings energy where you can really appreciate what you’ve built for yourself. You’ve worked hard to get here! Take a moment to acknowledge that! Treat yourself to something nice and enjoy your own company. This card also indicates that financial security and abundance are available to you, so trust in your ability to provide for yourself!

Now, the Knight of Pentacles reversed does throw a little caution into the mix. This could indicate that something you’re waiting for on the financial front is delayed. A payment, a raise, a new job, an investment return, or something might take longer than expected. With Venus and Mercury retrograde this month, this wouldn’t surprise me. Try not to get impatient or discouraged! This reversal can also point to feeling stuck in a rut, bored with your routine, or unmotivated to do the practical daily tasks that need to get done. If you’re feeling sluggish about work, try switching up your environment or routine to get the energy moving again! This could also be a warning against being too stubborn or rigid in your approach to money and career. Be open to doing things differently!

Love and Relationships

If you’re single

Justice reversed is telling me that there’s some unresolved energy from past relationships affecting how you’re showing up in the dating world. This could be resentment, bitterness, or a lingering sense that you were treated unfairly by someone. Maybe a past breakup didn’t give you the closure you needed, or someone wronged you and never apologized or faced consequences. Whatever it is… you’re still carrying it and it’s coloring how you see potential new connections!

The 5 of Swords upright here reinforces this. This is a card of conflict, defeat, and sometimes winning at a cost. In the context of your love life, it might indicate that you’ve been approaching dating with a guarded or even combative energy. Maybe you’re testing people before they’ve given you a reason to. Perhaps you’re so focused on not getting hurt again that you’re pushing people away or creating conflict where there doesn’t need to be any. Some of you might be attracted to people who bring drama or who you have to “fight” for. This isn’t the energy that’s going to lead you to healthy love!

But here’s the thing… the 10 of Cups upright is also here! This is the card of emotional fulfillment, happiness, true love, and finding your person. It’s one of the best cards you can get for love! So the potential for real, DEEP, satisfying love is absolutely there for you… but you have to clear out the old wounds and the defensive patterns first. You have to stop approaching love like a battlefield. The doorway card coming out confirms this by saying that an opportunity is about to present itself that leads you to a new person. Someone new could be entering your life in October! A door is opening! But you have to be ready to walk through it, and you can’t do that if you’re still dragging all your old baggage behind you. October is about doing the inner work so you’re actually ready when this person shows up!

If you’re in a relationship

Justice reversed and the 5 of Swords upright together in a relationship reading can indicate a rough patch. There might be ongoing conflict, arguments that keep happening over the same issues, or a general sense of unfairness and imbalance. Someone might feel like they’re giving more than they’re getting. Someone might be keeping score. There could be power struggles where one or both of you are more focused on being right than being happy together. If this resonates, October is asking you both to take a hard look at the dynamic! Is there mutual respect here? Is there fairness? Are you fighting against each other or fighting for the relationship? The 5 of Swords often indicates that even the “winner” of a conflict ends up losing something. If every disagreement turns into a battle, everyone ends up wounded.

The 10 of Cups upright shows me that deep happiness and emotional fulfillment are absolutely possible for your relationship! This isn’t a reading that says give up. It’s a reading that says there’s some stuff to work through, but the potential for real joy together is there. You might need to have some honest conversations this month. You might need to address things that have been swept under the rug, or you might need outside support like couples counseling to get back on track. But the love is there if you’re both willing to do the work! The doorway card in a partnered reading could mean that you and your partner are entering a new phase together. A new chapter is opening up! This might require you to leave behind old patterns and ways of relating to each other. Or the new person entering your life could be a therapist, child, or family member.

For friendships and family connections

Watch out for drama this month! The Justice reversed and 5 of Swords energy can show up in any relationship, not just romantic ones! There could be conflict with friends, tension with family members, or situations where you feel like someone has treated you unfairly. You might also witness people around you in conflict with each other and feel pulled into the middle. Be careful about engaging in gossip, taking sides, or getting sucked into battles that aren’t yours to fight. Not every situation requires your involvement! Sometimes the wisest thing you can do is stay out of it, and when it comes to your own conflicts with others, ask yourself if the issue is really worth the damage that fighting about it might cause. Some things are better left alone!

Journal Prompt for October

Heart • Openness • Connection

What truth does your heart long to share without fear?

With all this energy around breaking free from mental prisons, releasing control, and healing old relationship wounds, this prompt feels very aligned for you!

What have you been holding back? What are you afraid to say out loud? Maybe there’s something you’ve been wanting to express to a specific person but fear of their reaction has kept you silent. Maybe there’s a part of yourself you’ve been hiding because you’re scared of judgment or rejection? Maybe there are feelings you haven’t even admitted to yourself because they’re too scary or too vulnerable!

Write it all down! Every single thing. You don’t have to share it with anyone. You don’t have to do anything with what comes out. BUT sometimes the first step toward speaking your truth is simply admitting it to yourself on paper. Let your heart speak without editing, censoring, or worrying about what anyone would think if they saw it. This is just for you!

What does your heart long to say?

If this resonated, let me know in the comments! You can also book a personal reading here if you feel called to.

PILE TWO

Pick a card reading, October 2026 (what to expect)

For extra confirmation (it’s okay if this doesn’t apply to you):

  • You could have your Moon in Aquarius or the 3rd house
  • You could have prominent 3rd house placements or could be going through significant 3rd house transits in October
  • You could have prominent Aquarius, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Capricorn placements
  • Potential birth dates: 3, 5, 23, December, or February 3

Overall Energy of October 2026

The Moon in Aquarius in the 3rd house showed up on the astro dice which is setting the emotional tone for this month! The 3rd house rules communication, your immediate environment, siblings, neighbors, short trips, and the way you think and process information. With the Moon here, your emotions are tied up in these areas! You might find yourself feeling more mentally stimulated than usual, craving intellectual conversations, or noticing that your mood shifts based on what you’re learning, reading, or talking about. Aquarius energy adds a detached and analytical quality to this. You might be processing your feelings through your mind rather than your heart, perhaps trying to understand your emotions logically rather than just feeling them. Some of you might have important conversations with siblings or people in your immediate circle this month. Others might feel emotionally drawn to learning something new, taking a short trip, or changing up your daily routine and environment! There’s also something here about needing mental freedom! You don’t want anyone telling you how to think or boxing you into a certain perspective. Your mind needs room to explore!

The Tarot

The 4 of Pentacles upright is the first tarot card. This is the card of holding on tightly, being protective of your resources, security-focused, and sometimes resistant to change. There’s a part of you that’s gripping something very firmly right now. It could be money, possessions, a job, a relationship, a belief system, or even your sense of identity. You’re holding on because you’re afraid of what happens if you let go. That fear is valid! There’s wisdom in protecting what you’ve built, but this card also asks you to check if your grip has become too tight! Is your need for security preventing you from growing? Is your fear of loss keeping you stuck?

The Queen of Cups upright next brings beautiful, nurturing energy to your October! This queen is emotionally intelligent, intuitive, compassionate, and deeply connected to her inner world! She represents the best of water energy… the ability to feel DEEPLY while still maintaining her center. This card tells me that accessing your emotional wisdom is KEY this month. You have a strong intuition! You know things before you can logically explain how you know them. The Queen of Cups is asking you to trust that inner knowing! She’s also asking you to lead with compassion, both for yourself and others. Some of you might be stepping into a role where others need your emotional support and guidance. Others might be connecting with a Queen of Cups type person who offers you the nurturing and understanding you need. This is also about self care. Make sure you are taking care of your own needs this month too.

The Ace of Swords reversed also here indicates some mental fog or confusion this month. Mercury and Venus retrograde this month, so this is not surprising. New ideas might not be coming through clearly. You could be struggling to make a decision or see the truth of a situation. Communication mishaps are definitely possible! Be careful about signing contracts or making important agreements without reading the fine print! This reversal can also point to harsh self-talk or negative thought patterns that need to be addressed. If your inner voice has been critical and unkind lately, October is asking you to notice that and work on shifting it! The clarity you’re seeking will come, but it might take some time to cut through the confusion.

The Oracle Cards

Manifestation and abundance cards: These coming through together are a powerful sign that what you’ve been working toward is materializing! Your efforts are paying off! The energy of creation and receiving is strong for you this October! But the get laser focused card also here tells me that scattered energy is the enemy right now! You can’t manifest effectively if your attention is split in a hundred directions. Pick your priorities, decide what matters most, and put your energy there and watch what happens!

Balsamic moon card: This card indicates that this is a time for healing. In the lunar cycle, the balsamic moon is the final phase before the new moon! It’s about rest, release, reflection, and preparing for a new beginning. Some of you might be at the end of a chapter in your life. This isn’t the time to push hard or start brand new things. It’s the time to heal, integrate lessons, and get ready for what’s next!

The handshake card: This says that a meeting with a stranger could be important this month. Keep your eyes open this month! Someone you don’t know yet could play a significant role in your life. This could be a business connection, a new friend, a romantic interest, or someone who opens a door for you that you didn’t even know existed. Don’t dismiss random encounters or new people too quickly!

The throne card: This card indicates a position of authority. This could mean you’re stepping into a leadership role or position of power. It could also mean you’re dealing with someone who holds authority over you in some way. Either way, themes of power, leadership, status, and influence are present in your October!

Crib card: This card speaks to the birth or conception of a child or enterprise. For some of you, this is literal! Pregnancy, babies, or children could be a theme this month! But for most of you, this is about something new being born. A business, a project, a creative work, or a new phase of life. Something is in its infancy and needs your care and attention to grow!

“Love, deep affection, and caring”: This card tells me that genuine love energy is surrounding you this month. This is real, deep, and heartfelt connection and care. Whether it’s romantic love, family love, friendship, or self-love, the energy of true affection is available to you!

December card: This is interesting because we’re talking about October! This could be a timing indicator. Something happening now might fully come together or make more sense by December. OR there’s a connection between events in October and what will unfold in December. Keep this month in mind as the year closes out!

“Dealings or relationship with a woman with dark complexion or hair” card: This is very specific! There’s a woman matching this description who will be significant in your October. This could be a new person coming in, or it could be someone already in your life who plays a bigger role this month. Pay attention to the women around you!

The rooster card: This card comes with a warning. There’s an arrogant, boastful person you should not cross. Someone in your orbit has a big ego and doesn’t take kindly to being challenged or opposed. This isn’t the person to pick a fight with this month! Even if they frustrate you and even if their arrogance annoys you, the rooster card says this isn’t a battle worth having! Let them crow. Protect your peace and don’t engage!

Grounding card: This is essential with all this mental Aquarius energy floating around! You need to stay connected to the earth, to your body, and to the present moment. It’s easy to get lost in your head right now, like overthinking everything and disconnecting from physical reality. Make a conscious effort to ground yourself! Walk barefoot in grass, exercise, eat nourishing food, get enough sleep, and spend time in nature. Do whatever brings you back into your body!

Surrender to passion: Pile two, somewhere in your life there’s something you feel passionate about that you’ve been holding back from fully embracing. Maybe it’s a creative pursuit, or a person, or a career path, or a lifestyle that excites you!! The 4 of Pentacles energy of gripping tightly might be keeping you from diving into this passion because it feels risky or uncertain. But this card is asking you to let go and surrender to what sets your soul on fire! Stop playing it safe with the things that matter most to you.

Career and Finances

The Knight of Wands reversed and the Knight of Pentacles reversed appearing here in your career reading is notable. Two reversed knights indicate stalled energy, delays, and things not moving forward the way you want them to. Again, with Mercury and Venus retrograde this month, this wouldn’t surprise me. The Knight of Wands reversed points to a lack of direction, scattered energy, projects that fizzle out, or passion that has cooled. You might have started something with a lot of enthusiasm that has since lost its spark, or you’re feeling restless and frustrated because you want to make moves but don’t know which direction to go. There could also be impulsive decisions coming back to bite you, or alternatively, fear preventing you from taking action you know you need to take!

The Knight of Pentacles reversed reinforces the theme of delays. Specifically with money, tangible results, and practical progress. Something is moving slower than you’d like. A raise, a promotion, a new job, a business milestone, or income you were expecting. It’s delayed, not denied, but the waiting is frustrating! This card can also indicate laziness, lack of motivation, or cutting corners. If you’ve been slacking on your responsibilities, this is a call to get back on track!

But here’s the thing… the 6 of Wands upright is also in this reading, and that’s a card of victory, recognition, success, and public recognition! So despite the delays and stalled energy, there IS a win coming for you! You will have a moment of triumph and recognition in your career or finances this month. The success is coming, it might just take longer to arrive than you anticipated.

The research oracle here specifically says, before you make your next move, it’s important to do some exploratory research so you know all the possible paths you can take. This isn’t the time to rush into decisions about your career or finances. Do your homework! Explore your options, gather information, and talk to people who have been where you want to go. Read, learn, and investigate! The more you know, the better equipped you’ll be to make the right choice when it’s time to move forward.

Love and Relationships

If you’re single

The Knight of Swords reversed in your love reading indicates that someone might be coming in who isn’t what they seem, or a past connection with this energy might be resurfacing. Remember… Venus is retrograde this month! This knight reversed can be someone who is all talk and no action! They might say the right things but never follow through. They could be hot and cold, aggressive one minute and distant the next. There might be mind games, manipulation, or communication that leaves you more confused than before. If someone new comes into your life this month and they have this chaotic and inconsistent energy, proceed with caution! Words mean nothing without actions to back them up.

The 4 of Wands upright here is a really lovely card for love though! This is about celebration, stability, homecoming, and reaching a milestone. It indicates that happiness and stability in love are available to you! For some of you, this could point to meeting someone who feels like home. There’s a sense of finding your place, your people, and your person. This card has engagement and wedding energy for some of you! Even if that’s not imminent, it indicates the potential for a committed, stable, and celebratory love!

But here’s where it gets complicated… the 4 of Cups upright here is the card of apathy, boredom, discontent, and not recognizing the blessings right in front of you. Is it possible that you’re so caught up in what you think love should look like that you’re missing what’s actually being offered to you? Are you bored with dating and checked out? Are you dismissing potential connections because they don’t match some fantasy in your head? The 4 of Cups asks you to wake up and pay attention! Someone or something good might be trying to get your attention, but you’re not seeing it because you’re stuck in your feelings of discontent!

The together oracle card showing up brings this specific message: find joy in the pleasures of just being together!

Love doesn’t have to be dramatic, complicated, or Instagram-perfect. Sometimes the best love is quiet moments, comfortable silence, shared meals, and easy companionship. If you’ve been chasing fireworks and passion to the point where you overlook steady, warm connection, this card is asking you to reconsider what you actually want and need!

If you’re in a relationship

The Knight of Swords reversed could indicate communication issues in your relationship, perhaps messages not landing the way they’re intended, or arguments that escalate too quickly. One or both of you being defensive, aggressive, or sharp with your words. This knight can also represent a third party situation for some of you, like someone with chaotic energy trying to interfere in your relationship. If that’s the case, don’t let them!

The 4 of Wands upright is beautiful for established relationships! This is the card of domestic happiness, celebration, and reaching a milestone together. Some of you might be celebrating an anniversary, moving in together, getting engaged, planning a wedding, or reaching some other significant relationship milestone this month. Even without a specific event, this card indicates a period of stability and happiness at home. Things feel settled and secure between you.

The 4 of Cups upright here is asking you to check in on your level of engagement with your relationship. Have you gotten complacent? Are you taking your partner for granted? Is boredom creeping in? This card shows up when we stop appreciating what we have and start focusing on what we think is missing. If you’ve been feeling restless or dissatisfied in your relationship, October asks you to honestly examine whether the problem is the relationship itself or your own perspective and expectations.

The together oracle card emphasizes finding joy in the pleasures of just being together! When was the last time you and your partner enjoyed each other’s company without distractions, without phones, and without stress? Sometimes relationships lose their spark not because the love is gone but because life gets busy and we forget to actually be present with each other. Make time this month to just be together! No agenda, no to-do lists… just connection!

For friendships and family connections

The Knight of Swords reversed energy can show up in any relationship! Be mindful of communication with friends and family this month. Misunderstandings are possible! Someone might say something hurtful without thinking, or a message might be taken the wrong way. If conflict arises, try to slow down and clarify before things escalate! The 4 of Wands brings positive energy for gatherings and celebrations with loved ones! A family event, a reunion, a party, a wedding, or some kind of get-together could be part of your October. Enjoy these moments of connection and celebration! The 4 of Cups asks you to appreciate the people in your life. Don’t take your friendships and family relationships for granted. If someone is reaching out to you, offering support, or trying to connect, don’t brush them off because you’re caught up in your own discontent. Let people love you!

Journal Prompt for October

Sensuality • Spirit • Hope

What parts of you are longing to be touched by beauty again?

With the 4 of Cups energy and the surrender to passion card, this prompt feels so aligned for you! When was the last time you let yourself fully experience beauty? Not just see it, but FEEL it move through you? The 4 of Cups creates a kind of numbness where we go through the motions but stop really feeling things. We become disconnected from pleasure, wonder, beauty, and over time, parts of us start to wither from the lack of that nourishment.

What parts of you have been neglected? What would it feel like to let beauty touch you again? Write about the experiences, the sensations, and the moments that used to make you feel fully alive! What do you miss? What are you hungry for? What would you let back into your life if you stopped protecting yourself from feeling too much?

PILE THREE

Pick a card reading, October 2026 (what to expect)

For extra confirmation (it’s okay if this doesn’t apply to you):

  • You could have Pluto in the 6th house,  prominent 6th house placements, or Pluto transit your 6th house
  • You could have prominent Cancer, Aries, Virgo, Libra, or Leo placements
  • Potential birth dates: 1, 6, 8, 18, or January 8, September

Overall Energy of October 2026

Pluto in Cancer in the 6th house showed up on the astro dice and this is intense energy to kick off this reading! The 6th house governs your daily routines, work environment, health, habits, and acts of service. Pluto brings transformation, death and rebirth, power dynamics, and deep psychological excavation! Cancer adds emotional depth, family influence, nurturing, and themes of home and security to the mix. What this tells me is that October is bringing profound shifts to your everyday life! Something about your daily routine, health practices, work environment, or how you take care of yourself is undergoing a major transformation! This is Pluto, which means whatever is shifting has roots that go DEEP. You might be uncovering how your upbringing, family patterns, and emotional conditioning have shaped the way you approach work, health, and daily responsibilities. Some of you might be healing old wounds related to feeling like you have to earn love through service or productivity. Others might be transforming your relationship with your body after years of neglect or mistreatment. There could also be power dynamics at play in your work environment or daily life. Someone might be trying to control you, or you might be recognizing ways you’ve given your power away in these areas. Whatever needs to change in your 6th house matters, and October is when that change accelerates!

The Tarot

The Two of Swords reversed here first tells me that a decision you’ve been avoiding is finally being made! You can’t avoid this indecision anymore. The choice is being made whether you consciously make it or circumstances force your hand. Some of you have been sitting on the fence about something for way too long! October says time’s up! You have to pick a direction. This might feel uncomfortable because part of you liked not having to decide. As long as you didn’t choose, you didn’t have to deal with the consequences of that choice. But staying stuck was its own kind of consequence, and you’re done with it now! The clarity might not come all at once, but the avoidance is ending.

The Ace of Wands reversed next indicates blocked creativity, false starts, delays to new beginnings, and passion that can’t find its outlet. You might have ideas, inspiration, and desires bubbling up inside you, but something is preventing them from manifesting in the physical world. This could be external circumstances blocking your path, or it could be internal resistance and fear. Some of you might have tried to start something new recently only to have it fizzle out or hit immediate obstacles. This reversal can also point to a lack of motivation, feeling uninspired, or questioning whether you even want the things you thought you wanted. Combined with the Two of Swords reversed, I’m getting the sense that the decision you’re finally making might be connected to a new beginning that hasn’t been able to launch yet. Once you stop sitting on the fence and actually commit to a direction, the Ace of Wands energy can move from reversed to upright! The spark can catch, but first you have to choose!

The 10 of Wands upright next is the card of burden, overwhelm, carrying too much, and pushing yourself to the point of exhaustion. Pile three, you’re tired!! And not just regular tired… you’re carrying so much weight right now that it’s affecting everything. Responsibilities have piled up and you’ve taken on more than one person should reasonably handle. You might be doing everything yourself because you don’t trust anyone else to do it right, or because you feel like you have no choice, or because saying no feels impossible. This card often shows up for people who are burning out! You’re almost at the finish line of something, but the final stretch feels excruciating. Everything is heavy and you’re dragging yourself forward through sheer willpower. This isn’t sustainable! October is showing you VERY clearly that something has to give. You cannot keep going like this!

The Oracle Cards

Stimulation card: This tells me that despite the exhaustion, there’s a part of you that’s craving something new, something exciting, and something that wakes you up and makes you feel alive again! You need stimulation! Mental, emotional, creative, physical, and something to shake you out of the heaviness and remind you that life can be more than just surviving!

The happiness + sun happiness and wellbeing cards: These appearing together are beautiful! Spirit is reminding you that joy is your birthright! Happiness isn’t something you have to earn through suffering and sacrifice. It’s available to you right now, even in the midst of everything you’re carrying. These cards ask you to actively choose happiness this month! Seek out things that bring you joy. Don’t wait until all your responsibilities are handled to let yourself feel good. Weave moments of happiness into your days even when times are hard.

New creative ideas, new ventures, fresh starts card: This connects to the Ace of Wands reversed. The potential for new beginnings is there! The creative ideas are available! But you have to clear some space for them. You can’t birth something new when you’re completely depleted and overwhelmed. This card is encouragement that the fresh start you’re craving is coming, but first you need to address the burnout situation!

“Dealings or relationship with a woman with blonde, gray, or white hair” card: This indicates that someone matching this description will likely be significant in your October. Pay attention to women with lighter colored hair in your life this month. This could be someone new coming in or someone already around you who plays an important role.

September card: This is interesting since we’re heading into October! This tells me that something from September is directly connected to what you’re dealing with now. Whatever happened last month could have set the stage for your October. There might also be unfinished business from September that needs to be addressed, or you might be processing and integrating events that occurred then.

Protect your energy card: This is essential for you right now! Pile three, you’re depleted! You can’t afford to let energy vampires, draining situations, or unnecessary obligations take any more from you. You need to become fiercely protective of your energy this month! That means boundaries, saying no, and walking away from conversations, environments, and people that leave you feeling worse than before. You don’t have extra to give right now. Guard what you have!

Compassion card: This asks you to extend gentleness to yourself and others. You might be frustrated with yourself for being so tired, for not being able to do more, for struggling. But beating yourself up takes energy you don’t have! Be kind to yourself the way you would be kind to a friend going through a hard time.

Disseminating Moon card: This brings the message to take time to breathe out. In the lunar cycle, the disseminating moon comes after the full moon. It’s a time of sharing, teaching, and releasing. You’ve been holding your breath. You’ve been in survival mode, pushing through, and tensing up against all the pressure. October is asking you to exhale! Let some of it go. You don’t have to hold everything so tightly.

Surrender to setting limits: This brings a specific message to practice expressing your needs because NO is a complete sentence. This card could not be more perfect for your reading! You need to set limits! You need to practice saying no without explaining, justifying, or apologizing. No is enough! You’re allowed to decline things. You’re allowed to have boundaries. You’re allowed to put yourself FIRST sometimes. The 10 of Wands you’re carrying… a lot of those wands probably shouldn’t be yours in the first place! October is the month to start putting some down!

Career and Finances

The Hanged Man reversed indicates frustration with delays, feeling stuck in limbo, or resisting a necessary pause. You might be fighting against a period of waiting. You want things to move forward and they’re not, and it’s driving you crazy! There could also be sacrifices that aren’t paying off the way you expected, or a refusal to see a situation from a different angle that’s keeping you stuck. Keep in mind, Venus and Mercury both retrograde this month. That’s frustrating energy! Some of you might be in a job situation that feels stagnant. You’re not sure whether to stay or go, and the uncertainty is uncomfortable. Others might be waiting on news, a decision, an opportunity, or payment that keeps getting delayed. The Hanged Man reversed can also indicate that you’re so focused on forward momentum that you’re missing important insights that could only come from slowing down!

The Ace of Pentacles upright next to this is wonderful news for your finances and career though! This is the card of new opportunities for material abundance. A new job offer, a financial opportunity, or a chance to build something solid and prosperous! This ace is a seed of wealth and stability being planted. It might not be fully grown yet, but the potential is there! Stay alert for opportunities that could improve your financial situation. They’re coming!

But then we have the Chariot reversed with the 10 of Swords upright, and this combination is intense! The Chariot reversed indicates loss of control, lack of direction, obstacles blocking your path, and willpower that’s not working the way it used to. You might feel like no matter how hard you try, you can’t seem to get where you want to go. External circumstances keep throwing you off course! Or maybe you’ve lost your sense of direction entirely and don’t even know which way to steer anymore. The 10 of Swords upright is the card of endings, rock bottom, defeat, and painful conclusions. Something in your career or financial life could be ending or has recently ended. This could be a job, a business, a financial situation, a project, or even just a way of working that no longer serves you. The 10 of Swords isn’t gentle. It can be a painful card. It often shows up when we’ve hit the wall, when things have fallen apart completely, or when there’s nothing left to do but accept that this chapter is over. Together, these cards tell me that some of you might be experiencing or are about to experience a significant setback in your career or finances. It could feel like everything is going wrong at once. But here’s the thing about the 10 of Swords… it represents the end. The worst has happened which means it can only get better from here! And the Ace of Pentacles sitting in this same reading confirms that a new beginning is available even in the midst of the ending!!

The conditioning oracle card that came out asks you directly, have you accepted the illusory limits placed onto you by your upbringing and social conditioning? This is such an important question for your career! What do you believe about money, success, and work that you inherited from your family or absorbed from society? Are those beliefs actually true, or are they limits that were placed on you before you were old enough to question them? Maybe you were taught that you have to struggle to earn money, maybe you absorbed the belief that people like you don’t get ahead, or maybe you internalized that your worth is tied to your productivity. Whatever the conditioning is, October is asking you to examine it and question whether it’s actually serving you!

The obligations oracle card that also came out brings this specific message… you have some prior contracts or commitments that still need to be fulfilled before you can completely move onto the next stage of your journey. You can’t skip this step, pile three! There are loose ends that need to be tied up, responsibilities that need to be completed, and obligations that need to be honored before you can fully move forward. This might be frustrating when you’re eager for the new beginning the Ace of Pentacles promises, but trying to rush past your current obligations will only create problems later. Finish what you started! Honor your commitments and then you’ll be free to embrace what’s next!

Love and Relationships

If you’re single

The Sun reversed in your love reading tells me that something is dimming your light when it comes to romance. The Sun upright is pure joy, happiness, vitality, and optimism. Reversed, that brightness is clouded. You might be feeling pessimistic about love. Past disappointments could be casting shadows over your ability to hope for something good. There may be a lack of clarity about what you actually want or deserve in a partner. Some of you might be projecting a happy exterior when it comes to dating while internally feeling much more uncertain and guarded. Others might be so focused on the negatives, all the bad dates, the ghosting, and the disappointments that you’ve lost touch with the possibility that love can be joyful and easy!

The Hermit reversed also here indicates a few different possibilities. You might be isolating yourself too much, withdrawing from social situations and dating opportunities out of exhaustion or protection, or you could be so focused on external validation and finding someone that you’ve lost connection with yourself. The Hermit upright finds wisdom in solitude. Reversed, there’s either too much isolation or not enough inner reflection. Some of you might also be ignoring important lessons you learned during a period of being single, perhaps rushing back into dating before you’ve fully integrated your own growth.

The Four of Cups reversed here is actually a beautiful shift! You’re starting to notice opportunities you previously overlooked. You’re becoming ready to accept what’s being offered instead of dismissing it. This reversal indicates a renewed interest in love and connection after a period of emotional withdrawal. The relax oracle card alongside of this says that there is no need to rush and encourages you to let the connection unfold naturally. Pile three, you’ve been carrying so much weight! You don’t need to add pressure around finding love on top of everything else. Relax! Let it happen organically. The right person will come at the right time. You don’t have to force it or stress about timelines. When you’re operating from the 10 of Wands energy, you might approach dating like another item on your to-do list, but love doesn’t flourish under pressure. Ease up and let things flow!

If you’re in a relationship

The Sun reversed could indicate a temporary dip in the happiness and vitality of your relationship. Things might feel a bit clouded or lackluster right now. The spark might be dimmer than usual. One or both of you could be bringing stress, pessimism, or exhaustion into the relationship and it’s affecting the overall energy. This doesn’t mean your relationship is doomed! It just means October might not be the brightest month for your connection. Sometimes relationships go through seasons, and this might be a more overcast period. For some of you, there could also be issues around honesty and authenticity. Are you being your true self with your partner? Are they being their true self with you? The Sun reversed can indicate that someone isn’t showing their full light and that there’s a mask or facade in place.

The Hermit reversed in a partnership reading can point to feeling disconnected from yourself within the relationship. You might have lost touch with your own needs, desires, and identity because so much of your energy goes into the partnership or into your other responsibilities. This card can also indicate too much time apart or not enough quality time together. Some of you might be living like roommates rather than partners right now. The Four of Cups reversed alongside this brings positive energy! One or both of you are waking up to what you have! After a period of taking the relationship for granted or feeling dissatisfied, there’s a renewed appreciation emerging. You’re starting to see your partner and your connection with fresh eyes. This is a good time to actively re-engage with your relationship instead of letting it run on autopilot. The relax oracle card coming out is important for partnerships too. If you’ve been putting pressure on the relationship, expecting it to be perfect, and creating stress around where things are going, this card asks you to breathe! Let the connection unfold naturally and trust the process.

For friendships and family connections

The Sun reversed might indicate that relationships with friends or family members aren’t bringing you the joy they usually do right now. There could be tension, miscommunication, or just a general sense of things being off. The Hermit reversed asks you to check in on your balance of solitude versus social connection. Have you been withdrawing from people who care about you? Or conversely, have you been so focused on others that you’ve neglected time alone to recharge? The Four of Cups reversed is a positive sign that you’re becoming more appreciative of the people in your life! After maybe taking certain friendships or family relationships for granted, you’re starting to recognize their value again. Remember the protect your energy and surrender to setting limits cards from your overall reading. These absolutely apply to your relationships with friends and family too! Just because someone is family doesn’t mean they get unlimited access to your time and energy! Just because someone is a friend doesn’t mean you have to say yes to everything they ask. Boundaries are necessary, especially when you’re as depleted as the 10 of Wands indicates.

Journal Prompt for October

Time • Death • Immortality

What are you ready to release into the hands of time, trusting what remains?

This prompt hits differently for you given everything we’ve discussed. You’re carrying so much! The 10 of Wands, the overwhelm, the exhaustion, the obligations, the weight of it all, and somewhere inside you, there’s a knowing that you can’t take all of this with you into your next chapter! What are you ready to let go of? What has run its course? What are you clinging to out of obligation or fear or habit that is actually just adding to your burden? It could be a role you’ve outgrown, a responsibility that was never yours to carry, a dream that no longer fits, a version of yourself that you’ve moved beyond, a relationship that has served its purpose, or a belief about who you have to be or what you have to do.

Time takes things from us whether we consent or not, but there’s power in consciously choosing to release! There’s freedom in opening your hands and letting something fall away, trusting that what’s meant to stay will remain. What would you put down if you gave yourself permission? What would still be standing if you stopped holding everything together with your own two hands? Write about what you’re ready to release. Then write about what you trust will remain.

Let me know in the comments below if this resonated! And if you feel called to, you can book a personal reading here.

  • I chose pile 3 and it described lots of themes I’ve been working through since early this year and really buckling down on this past couple of months. The parts that stood out most were the messages about burnout and conditioning of my beliefs about myself and what I feel I need to do to feel worthy. There has been lots of self reflection this month. The fact that this reading is for Pluto in my 6th house felt especially affirming because my biggest goal this year has been to secure financial ease while cutting back significantly on hours worked because the burnout is here. I’m working to shift my body out of constant survival response so I can lower my cortisol, improve my sleep, and spend more time connecting to source.

  • I love this so much! I originally commented #2 but #1 hit me like a brick 🧱 (happens when i need clarification 😅)
But this was VERY accurate for me. Thank you for all that you do 🙏🏼✨
