10 Daily Habits to Boost your Mood
If you are anything like me, (I say this often) then you are in need of some mood boosters and pick me ups from time to time. I wish I could be a happy and positive person 24/7 but that’s just not realistic. That’s why today I want to share with you 10 daily habits that can help boost your mood!

1. Eat breakfast every morning to help boost your mood.
breakfast helps to give you the nutrition your body needs to start your day off on the right foot (that’s what my doctor tells me). I find that days where I don’t eat breakfast, I start to feel weak around lunch time. I have a lot more energy and motivation when I start my day off with a good breakfast! Although, I do slack at times. I must get better at this!
2. Open up your curtains and let light in.
When you are spending the day at home with your curtains closed there is no natural light. This can make you feel unmotivated. My productivity is always off when my space is dark. Do yourself a favor and open those curtains and let the light shine in and boost your mood!

3. Make your bed when you wake up.
There’s just something about having your bed made that makes you feel like your life is put together too!! Wake up and make your bed (:
4. Write everyday, your thoughts, aspirations, positive affirmations, journal.
I love writing, everyone knows that! But when you write down your thoughts daily, you’ll clear your mind and feel a lot better. It really helps to boost your mood. One of my favorite journals is the 5 minute journal. UGH I love it so much!
Here are some journal prompts:
- Where do you see yourself in 5 years…
- What are you thankful for today…
- What are some qualities you love about yourself…
- If you could travel anywhere, where would it be and why?…
- What makes you truly happy…
- What does your ideal life look like…
- Write down 5 positive affirmations…
- What can you do today, that will bring you closer to your goals?…
5. Never go to bed with dishes in the sink.
This is similar to making your bed. You will feel a boost in your mood if your space is clean and organized! Don’t go to bed with dishes in the sink. It’s a great daily habit to get into.
6. Drink lots of water
Believe it or not, water plays a huge part in your mood! Drinking water daily not only boosts your mood but it’s healthy for you too! You will most likely feel energized, brighter and clearer skin, and overall radiant!
7. Spend time alone and practice some self love and care.
Even if you are a social butterfly, it really is important to just have that alone time to really focus on yourself and do something you love! Whether it be reading a book, watching your favorite tv show, painting your nails, even if it’s for 15 minutes, it’s necessary. Something that I also love to use in my self care routine is essential oils! I love using my diffuser and just diffusing some mood boosting oils while watching my favorite show.
8. Daily affirmations
A daily habit that I love practicing is starting my day off with affirmations. I love affirmations as they don’t only boost my mood, but they also bring me reassurance and confidence. Here are some of my favorites. I find that when I wake up and start my day with positivity rather than negativity, I am happier.
9. Get ready everyday
If you work from home like I do, then this is a very important daily habit to try! When you wake up and work from home it’s so easy to want to stay in your pjs all day! BUT, this can make you feel unmotivated and unproductive. Try to make sure you are getting ready every morning! You can even do your hair and makeup if you’d like! It will boost your mood and make you feel ready to slay the day!

10. Step outside
It’s crazy what nature can do to our mind. Stepping outside and breathing in fresh air is such a mood booster. It leaves me feeling refreshed, and motivated. Even if it’s for 5 minutes! Step outside.
I hope you enjoyed this list! It’s so easy to feel uninspired, unmotivated, and down in the dumps. We all have our moments which is why it’s so important we are focusing on the positivity in our everyday lives.
Until next time! xx
Certain things we hear about often (exercise, eat breakfast, go to bed on time), but then there are the other little things you’ve captured that don’t seem like much but totally add up to a lot! I completely resonate with having natural light flood the house, and having the bed made and the dishes done. It’s the little things in life that can make a big difference, even if you didn’t get a chance to work out! Thanks for putting these reminders together. 🙂
Thank you so much!! And it’s so true, it’s the little things that make a huge difference (:
